Hot Ballads - Metal Free Version

Sex Sold and and ballads ruled.  These are a few that stood out.  The metal side of music was putting out a lot of songs that I'll post separately, and briefly.  They had their place without question, but I have always felt .... frankly squinty and undecided on sharing my hairspray with straight men.  Simply and honestly put, 1980's hair bands mangle the shit out the brainwaves that identify what I'm willing to share with boys.

1989:  Chris Isaak - Wicked Game:
He went and made a wet mess of things.  /ahem.

1985:  Mr. Mister: Broken Wings
Less sexy as just a really good song.

1987:  Terrence Trent-Darby:  Sign Your Name:
I was too young to be mimicking this song with a crippled hip.  I'm sure it looked spasmic, but it still a favorite of mine!  Too tall to be Prince, too white (at the time) to be Michael.... who dis?

Totally True:

In 1989, The Loma Prieta earthquake, also known as the Quake of '89 and the World Series Earthquake, was a major earthquake that struck the San Francisco Bay Area of California on October 17, 1989, at 5:04 pm local time. Caused by a slip along the San Andreas Fault, the quake lasted 10–15 seconds and measured 6.9 on both the moment magnitude scale and on the Richter magnitude scale.[1] The quake killed 63 people throughout Northern California injured 3,757  and left some 3,000–12,000 people homeless.

It also left this kid scarred with imagery of the below and an inherent gear of the Bay Bridge, which I have been on once and I rode the entire pass balled up under glove-box area of the passenger side of a car until we were off it.  Call me crazy and narcissistic enough to think I'm so rare that one in a million odds apply to ME, but I am a fear driven human and believe what I see on tv.
